One More Draupadi

Once again

Draupadi finds herself

Face to Face

With Dushasanas…!

That still prowl in this land,

With new faces and new names!

(But with same perverted minds)

When the soul remains shrouded

In the dead silence of a few past days,

When heart lies curled up

Too heavy to move;

The Spirit Fights On

How long…? How long…? And for how many times shall we scream at the top of our voices to wake up the dead world around us….? Echoes of these screams that can pierce the skies and reach God up there; but down here they strike against the dead walls of a skewed system, a deaf society and the stoned corridors of a political structure where the power-hungry bunch of law-makers are forever counting vote-banks on their finger-tips!

It’s a Dog’s Life

I salute all the pet-lovers

I am a great supporter of PETA

Towards A New Dawn

It is very easy to rue and rant about the ills of the society or the nation at large. We are too quick to comment on everything and everybody else. And when we say people are corrupt, society is responsible for it; we always tend to exclude ourselves from it. Isn’t it? Most of the time, we consider ourselves as the all-pious, all-perfect idealistic pedagogues, who have the unquestionable authority to comment on others; or as the oppressed victims, we vent out our frustration on others! And we can talk to any length of time to say ‘what’ is wrong with the society, shying away from acknowledging ‘why’ it is so.  Sometimes we feel that just talking about the ‘what’ may wake up others to reflect upon the whole issue; and making them aware may lead to some good coming out of it. But it doesn’t happen so.

Achala Sachdev

Achala Sachdev died yesterday in a hospital in Bombay after a prolonged illness, but what is more disturbing is that she died without any of her family members at her bed-side. She is not the first one to die like this, earlier it was Parven Babi and Nadira, (there may be more) who after giving the best years of their life to the show-biz, were abandoned to fend for themselves, both by the family, friends and the fraternity. Film industry is full of filthy-rich people who keep on singing their own praise for doing charity and supporting causes; but can’t they organize some society or organization to look after their own senior colleagues who have are too old to look after themselves?

Let’s hope good sense prevails and the some responsible people come forward to take up this cause.
